If you watch the others' HermitCraft streams, you will realize that she's just holding herself back. Otherwise GeminiSlay loves to "fist-bump" everyone and everything...

I had to go back and look for it I didn't even notice it when I was watching. That jump was so smooth that spider must have thought he got a buzz cut from her feet blazing over his head.

Having so much clank block is incredibly OP. It allows for you to be able to spend a lot more time in the dungeon
Gem, my favorite part of you is that you do a little bit of everything. I like being able to go to an SMP and discover that I get to watch one of my favorite mine crafters play that too. You don’t need to explain yourself, it’s your trademark.

Now you're GeminiSlay, master PvP'er, exceptionally gifted builder in multiple styles, impressive ravenger wrangler, and blossoming red stoner. This is not to mention the influence you are to many different people, including my daughter. Seriously, keep being you!

As someone with recently diagnosed ADHD, I fully understand and commiserate on the "jack of all trades" feeling. Many, many days I wish I just had one interest or speciality. It's only been very recently that I've noticed the skills I've acquired actually improving my quality of life. You do you, and what makes you happy! (Also, the deck looks very strong now, and I love when people have the AHA moment with deckbuilders. Specifically towards a smaller but more powerful deck.)
You know the full saying is “jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” Don’t let other people diminish your interests!

Don't have a diagnosis for ADHD, but I do strongly suspect I have it, and the Jack of all trades feeling is such a constant in my life. I keep focusing on different things every few months😅

The fact that you are in lots of SMPs and you're doing a lot of varied content makes you one of my favourite MC creators as there is always some video to entertain me even if I am not in a mood for the latest one. But loved watching you play DO, you are doing so great, be proud of yourself. Well done!!

You've hit on one related topic, something we fans keep talking about, liking the hermit's interactions. Interactions because everybody has their own gifts and personalities. The HermitCraft family is fantastic.

I’m sure some may enterpret Gem’s way of talking as childlike, but those people need to grow up. This woman is ASTONISHINGLY emotionally mature. From “Let’s focus on the things that are under our control” to “but that’s how it goes”, she’s an example of maturity, and I wish more people would ever reach this stage. It’s inspiring.

I’m happy to see Gem’s confidence growing. She’s got a really good deck, and I think she could benefit from camping level 1 for that extra bit of loot before leaving.
Man, Gem talking about how she doesn't have skills in one specific area. Like no, woman, you are a well rounded builder AND have mega skills in all areas of your building. You are amazing, don't sell yourself short. Plus I love to see Gem doing the videos she wants, even if they aren't all hermitcraft. Gem, I played Minecraft since like forever (bought it when they added hunger), and I am completely unable do do building like you do, so to me what you're doing with your elven city IS amazing :D Not just good! You've genuinely been one of my favourite decked out runners. I've loved how vocal you are as you go through. You've definitely been unlucky in terms of keys a couple of times, and in terms of when you've tried to up the difficulty. I think you can easily be a black horse of this whole competition, but I hope you keep your general wonder the whole time!

The hard park about Tangos jumps are he adds angles to the ceiling so you hit you head. Add a roof if your practicing to try to force your jumps into specific places

I thought the ravager juking in the mushroom area was going to be the best thing I'd see in this video, but then you vaulted straight over a cave spider! Holey moley I am impressed, you are getting real good at this
Honestly, I don't think Gem lacks focus, I think she just has an abundance of curiosity which pushes her into being a generalist rather than a specialist. There are pros and cons for both but while generalists might not get in-depth knowledge of one specific thing, they can apply knowledge from a range of different areas which is a great way to fuel creativity. I love watching Tango's dedication but I also love watching Gem seed ideas from all over the place - please criticise yourself for it Gem! We need generalists and specialists and neither is better than the other 🙂
So, hermitcraft moment from gem, she didnt mean it when she said she is “okay” at building, she knows she can build anything she wants and it will turn out looking good! She just means to the level that BDubs can take detailing to trick your eyes, or how Scar can immerse you into a whole new world with his scenery. Gem can do these things, and do them well, although she doesnt specialize in them quite as much as other builders would. Hope this helps anyone who was taken aback!
Also amazing content gem! You create your own magic in videos and i even almost prefer a jack of all trades! It always keep you interesting and us on our toes when watching your videos, keep it up! :)
Man, I really relate to being okay at everything but not amazing at anything. I find it so difficult to figure out what I want because of it, when I was choosing what degree I couldn't decide between a design, history, or science degree. I wanted to be a neuroscientist, a history teacher, a graphic designer, an architect, a dental hygienist and so much more. It's so frustrating for me, I hope to be able to get to the point where I can be happy to be okay at everything.
Focus is definitely a useful skill. Generalist abilities can be very handy, too, thankfully. I think that adaptability is key; sometimes you need to be able to focus, sometimes you need to be able to spread out. That's been helpful to my career, at least; sometimes I'm "the cloth guy", sometimes I'm the "rigging/animating/sculpting/texturing/lighting/VFX guy".
Gem… you don’t have to have hyper focus or build something like Decked Out to be amazing. You are uniquely Gem, and some people come to Hermitcraft JUST for you! (I am one of them!) Your personality and style, your accomplishments and ideas are more than enough! I’m so glad you’re making this EXACT content, wouldn’t change a thing. I hope to see more of you being amazing you, for a long time to come. Also, great job on Decked Out progress! You’re kicking butt! And your base is *chefs kiss* beautiful 🫶
As a fellow generalist, there's definitely nothing wrong with that! Also, I think you seriously underestimate your own skill level, which is actually a sign of how good you are. It's the Dunning Kruger effect, and you are at a spot where you are expert enough to see how much more there is to know and ways to improve. And frankly, that's awesome! Just give yourself more credit for how fantastic your skills actually are :)

I marvel at people like Tango who can focus for 13 months on these massive projects and bring creations like decked out to life. I also think there is something marvelous about having a wide range and variety of things you love to do because it keeps things fresh. I love watching you play stardew/phas/whatever on stream. You never fail to produce a good minecraft video, no matter what you are doing that week. It seems to be easy to make negative comments to strangers on the internet and it can be hard to *not* listen to the negative but no one has to live your life but you. I suspect that most of us are just here for you and happy to watch whatever you happen to be doing that day as long as you are having a good time.

In my opinion it’s better to be good at a lot of things than to be amazing at one thing. Plus your builds aren’t just good they are amazing! And also I like chaotic gem that does a bunch of things and are in a lot of smps I think it’s more fun that way.
I have a lack of focus too so I love your whole vibe! Don't let people grouching about being in too many SMPs get you down! Doing what you love and staying inspired is way more important :)

Gem I think you need to hear this more often but your better then just a simple well rounded builder… your building was what inspired me to the next level of Minecraft. Out of all the hermits I came across your survival series and in turn became fascinated with your level to detail in your builds.! Don’t sell yourself short! You do what you do and I show up for every video of it!!!
Hi Gem! You're doing so well at Decked Out, I love the long videos for it. But also, I'm pretty sure loot stops spawning on level one once you unlock level two?
Tango mentioned it on stream when he first opened the game. That its not worth opening the level two door when you're only on level one because it moves the level the loot spawns on. Not sure if you knew, but you can also confirm it with Tango?

I had to pause on the "Okay" section of this video. I appreciate that you finally gave yourself credit for being "good". However...it's the joy that you convey, the excitement you share and the genuineness of your character that make you amazing.
The parkour course in the Elven citadel is actually fitting--how else did Legolas learn how to do tricks like sled down stairs on a shield while shooting multiple arrows? =P

You seems to be an amazing person and just a really good human among the others. You can lead even when you don't understand all what's going. You can do multiple things without running out of "brain energy" too quickly. You are humble even when you could pat yourself on the back. Not much peopple can call him/herself good in peetty much everything like you. You did 2 degree and pass them? Nice! I did 3 and pass 1. And I'm still proud of what I did. And you are still, as far as I can see, successful in what you choose to do! ^^

Love the base builds and especially the Decked Out runs! I think you’re at a point where you could start removing some sneak cards from your deck and get some more uncommon treasure cards.
Your risk management and movement in the dungeon is exceptional, you could very well win the whole thing!

It was nice to hear Gem talk about "lack of focus" because I am exactly the same way! I jump from hobby to hobby and never like staying too long doing one thing. I wish I could get really good at something, but I just am not built that way. Fortunately, being pretty ok at a Lot of things comes in handy, since a lot of skills overlap so its never too hard to learn.. whatever I feel like learning.

Don't feel bad about your lack of focus. I am the same way. I figured out that I have a lack of focus because I like to focus on learning new things. I get bored easily, so I tend to hop around to different things very often. It makes me good at a lot of different things and an expert in a rare few.
