- Bits and bobs! Decorating the interior of my mega bases and adding some finishing touches. Can I call it complete yet? I'm sure I will still build and detail lots of areas, but I think it might be pretty much done! Exciting!!

This totally didn't happen because Tango was on vacation.... No, the hermits all love working on their own bases and builds.❤
lol
Gem did say once Decked Out opened: this is my life now. So cute.
I imagine the Hermits during Tango's vacation as the boys in South Park at the end of the World of Warcraft episode: "What do we do now?" "Dude, now we can play the game."
Totally no addiction to card based games or anything... nope, totally no addiction
Yeah EVERY SINGLE HERMIT took this week for their bases on purposeobviously
Tango: Goes on vacation for 4 days
All the hermits: Fine, I'll work on my base
Not complaining not judging, I just think it's funny!
lol
It really is a compliment for Tango. He did an amazing job building his game.
tango has the hermits wrapped around his game and its a beautiful sight
I love how Gem sometimes sneaks in Etho heads as casual decor
Gotta use those extra heads somehow lol
what a flex.
Random minecraft player: i'll decorate my base with diamond blocks and netherite armor
Gem: i'll decorate my base with the heads of a minecraft living legend
Nothing better than watching gem play hermitcraft inside with a blanket on a cold fall morning
my timezone is a dark windy night, best watching before sleeping
this is literally me rn. it is genuinely the best ever.
Cold? Where do you live?
Same!
@@DatCat6167Probably in a place that doesn't stay warm during the winter😅
How many fireplaces does this place need?
Gem: *yes*
The interiors are looking great and the place is staying warm!
If you want to give the little lotls' a bit more room, you could pull the aquarium out a couple of tiles, and add additional windowing to the study wall. Then you have two rooms where you can enjoy some Axolotl swimming.
That's a really good idea. I hope she sees it
she sorta did at 14:15 she added a window into the tank, at least.
The intro with gem trying to get us to ignore the not finished stuff is hilarious
8:06 I couldn’t help but think of Scar talking about his hatred for sunken in floors in real life on the Imp & Skizz Podcast. But the need to be wheelchair accessible in Minecraft isn’t really there, so I don’t think he’d have a problem with this aesthetic choice.
I thought I might have been the only one!
If gem is seeing this then I just wanted to say that I’m noticing just a tad of torch spam around the place….lighting episode would be awesome!!! I feel like it might really finish it off :)
I noticed that too! I'm also not sure if Gem can call her entrance hallway 'finished'. It feels a bit empty, especially without torches.😅
@@martijn9568 i agree she could add more details around
Fore sure!!!!
Love watching interior builds. For me, a base has never been "finished". I will find a new building to add, landscaping to tweak, new path lighting, an odd hit of interior change, etc. There is always a new idea. Granted, sometimes it is months between changes to any 1 area.
Same!
I guess I'd say my builds are finished when I can walk around it and nothing breaks the immersion. No empty rooms, no mess or trash or clutter, no missing pieces
She was so happy that she finished the mega base that she said thanks everyone good bye twice 😊 20:57
GEM IS GREAT
Geminigreat
Gem the great
I’m probably too late to suggest this, but I was wondering if you could hide “servants passages” or secret hallways in some of the awkward spaces between interior walls? I think that would be fun
And a fast way to get around!
Gems building style is soo magical yet cosy. I love it!❤️
YAS, agreed!
I wish I could build like her! It’s the second reason I watch this channel.
So nice to see people branching out creatively and bringing other aspects of Minecraft into play here on the Decked Out 2 server.
(Real talk though Gem's light harassment of Building Pearl gives me life. Their friendship is one of my favorite things to follow on HC. I'm so glad they decided to be neighbors.)
More Hermitcraft streams pretty please! I love watching you just wander around and do stuff that catches your attention because it’s how I love to build. The reason I build this way is probably because I’m an ADHD girlie but it’s so fun watching you build while I finish my own bases! Also you have one of the best personalities ever and you just make me feel so included in a world where I’m outcast because I’m Autistic and ADHD, you are probably my favourite KRclipr and it makes my day so much better when you upload. You also remind me that girls can play video games too and you validate all my desires to build and play Minecraft. Thanks for making your awesome content and as a teenage girl who isn’t exactly normal I appreciate you massively!
P.S. Sorry for the long comment
Two words, chiseled bookshelves. Also, I love the Etho heads flex XD And you're base looks AMAZING! It's so beautiful and so well tied together.
This
Bits and bobs episodes are always great! Reminds me of early minecraft youtube! Especially old Etho, Beef and Pause. As a fellow Canadian, it always beings a smile to my face especially with you among the Canadian Minecraft greats!
I love how Gem is always energetic and basically never worries about her build, building for her is just something that she likes to do.❤
I absolutely LOVE when you build/decorate because it always motivates me to play Minecraft again ❤
I love to see the decorating process! For me even silent putting up and destroying the same slab would be great to watch 😅
Gem , you should try to use the flat fan coral as a shaggy carpet, it looks pretty nice imo
Gem your mega base is one of the best mega bases I have ever seen. It's like a piece of art.
Gem you have been my comfort youtuber for almost 4 years now, and i just want to tell you that i appreciate you so so so much for everything ❤️
Great job completing your project, Gem!
Omg yhe base looks so beautiful ❤️🤩
Love to see the base done :) One idea that I thought of looking at the guardian farm, was that you could decorate the tower with leaves or some other plant, so that the horizon fits more with the theme (not saying you have to just thought it could be cool haha)
Your channel has grown and changed so much in the past few years I’ve been subscribed! I first found you for your big creative builds, and I’ve been loving your progress and content change towards more survival and SMP content! You’ve been supplying me with content through so many different stages in my life, from the end of high school to my current late college years, so so much has changed with me (even my gender lol!!) and it’s been so nice to have your content remain relaxing, fascinating and consistently engaging and heartwarming!!
I was sitting and staring at my current house in Minecraft and couldn't for the life of me think of what I wanted to do with the interior. And then inspiration fell in my lap in the form of a video. Thank you Gem! 😊
Oh this is so fun!! It's finally starting to cool off (though I imagine most of you wouldn't consider 76 degrees Fahrenheit "cool" lol), and this was just what I needed on a calm, cozy fall morning :D I love bits and bobs episodes
Where I live, our highs have started dropping into the upper 80s, so 76 is definitely cooler
This was so relaxing! As i was watching, I started thinking about season 10 and a mermaid theme for you would be really interesting! minecraft has underwater breathing capabilities, but no one really does underwater bases? Obviously, it's going to be your base and you should do what motivates you, I just think you could pull off a really awesome, gorgeous under water/semi under water build! :D
Congrats on finishing the mega base! What a journey it was! This was such a relaxing episode to watch. No big elaborate builds, just some cozy interior decorating. Each room feels so unique. I really love the view from the living room windows on Pearl's base.
14:50 To me, my builds are never truly finished, I always find myself seeing different things to add onto it. Usually it's pathways to other areas on a server, trees/bushes, decorating farms, interior, helping out a friend with one of their projects, etc. The list never stops, lol
I really appreciate hearing you talk about your building/recording process. I'm actually currently working on making Minecraft videos of my own in the near future and I find the little insights into your creative process to be interesting and helpful. :) I've been very inspired by Hermits like you Gem. Keep up the great work. 👍
I think Cozy > Flashy for a living room works better. Your base is looking great!
There's something about Gem working on interiors that feels so real and makes me want to hop onto Minecraft and build house interiors as well. I find a lot of Minecraft players tend to skip their thought processes for interiors and just build it all off-camera. But seeing Gem work out some of her ideas is really inspiring.
It’s been so fun watching you build this Gem! Over the past year or so just watching the slow gradual progress has been really cool!
The potion/plants room is magnificent. Great work from the Master of Fantasy, Gem.❤
Hi Gem!!! I just wanted to say I love your videos, they are so fun and whimsical, and it always makes me happy when you build!!! I can tell you work really hard making these videos, and I think they are great! Keep doing what you love! :D ❤️
I love that Gem has Ethos head in her decoration box😂❤
(Or at least what I thought that box was…)
I love your base! Just watched your whole season, and I love it! I have a suggestion if you're willing.( take this with a grain of salt, this is my opinion and your base looks amazing with or without) maybe add some more pink to other parts of your base to tie into the cherry tree better. I think adding it might make the base a bit more consistent. But I love what you've done so far and can't wait to see what you'll do next!
Gem, i would love if when you touch up the basement, you left the parkour training and made it into a focal point of that room
Amazing builds as always! You singlehandedly got me into Hermitcraft back the beginning of season 9. Thank you for chill and cool atmosphere. Love ya
Next Season of HC, You should totally do a Fairy/Fae Core vibe. Big flowers and Butterflies and stuff. You can all yourself "Gemini Fae" 😁
Fun, cozy episode =) The potion room is my favorite, too--chaotic and whimsical. I'm rereading the Septimus Heap series right now, and that build fits in nicely (it's a clean light fantasy with plenty of whimsy--everything is a little bit sentient when magic is involved =P )
Absolutely ADORING the potions&plants room! One of my proudest Sims builds is a witch cottage, so now I have inspiration for a more castley/fortress build! *-*
(inspo across games~!)
You finally finished the megabase!! I love how the whole base came together! Builder Gem at it again!
You always bring a smile on my face :)
The potion room looks amazing, good job on finishing the megabase !
I love this build, and honestly, I would watch every episode of you doing just as you said. Building a ship fleet, extending and connecting to other hermits ext. If you think this build is done I would still watch what you release.
Gem is great!
I never classify my builds as finished, parts of it may be finished but overall there is always room for expansion (until the world border)
Love your base Gem ❤
BUILDER GEM'S RETURNED!!!❤
14:14 gem and her emotional support Etho skull 😂 the interiors look AMAZING!
Love boits and bobs episodes. Also this definitely didn't happen because DO was closed. All the hermits suddenly, at the same time, had a spontaneous urge to work on their bases. 😂😂😂
Hey Gem, I’m loving the rooms as you complete them! If only mojang would add better furniture type blocks! I was wondering how many crafting tables have you crafted? hehehehe
I think you should call it finished when you can give us a FULL tour of absolutely EVERYTHING without any "hold on let me fix that" unless it's just a little block or something
HI GEM! love, love, love the cozy vibes your base gives. Also, will you vlog your experience this upcoming MCC?
The living and potion room looks so good! Bits and bobs of bases are oddly satisfying.
Looking at the axolotl tank, I had a bit of concern with the lack of air block in it, since they're amphibians.
The potion room is so cute! What a cozy video for my Saturday morning
In my opinion a base is finished, when you feel like there is nothing you can do to it to make it better, or when you stop having fun working on it. I love the content btw, u r great, and i hope, that u have as much fun making these videos, as i have watching them, cuz then u r the joyfullest person in canada.
I just finished your last video and now I’m so happy I can watch you more!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the finishing touch episodes! Scale is easier than detail and I need all the inspiration I can get for detail
GEMMM i missed your build-focused videos, its so calming and relaxing just watching this video man
It helps that they had a new plants in the last month photos photos it looks great chemistry 20:22
I love these relaxing and super calming videos from gem that also give inspiration for builds or other things, top tier vids!
I definitely think that the soul campfires would go fantastic in the living area, since that'd make it look like a conjured fire by elven means
Love this beautiful base part of me wants to see ever room fully completed but another part kinda hopes there’s still a few spaces that when the download comes out I can try decorating myself
I hope you remembered to light up all the dead spaces as you covered them up, otherwise you'll have monsters spawning in your walls 😱
Omg!! Ever since you mentioned your base on Pearl’s stream yesterday, I’ve been SO looking forward to it!!! Super excited, Gem your base is the best
I love all the new interiors for your base! However I do just keep thinking about the time where you got called out for no glass in your windows and kept seeing no glass windows again lmao. Plus your study windows look like faces! more faces in your build woo!!
I love the use of vertical space at least in the potions room. Nothing beats it
Don't feel bad about procrastinating. I've got a cave near my base with the three main dungeons in relatively close proximity. But there's a big cavern between them. I decided to build a giant dragon skeleton as a natural bridge. That was two years ago and I only have about a third of it done. Sometimes you just gotta wait for Inspiration to bite you again.
Gem, what if your axolotle aquarium was multi-story? You have all that height, but the aquarium is pretty small. It would be cool if there were tubes or something and the axolotles could swim around all over your castle! No pressure, just a thought.
I'm a new viewer! I like the chill vibes here. Congrats on completing the base!Thank you for the content hope you have a good time in Las Vegas
gratz on finishing your megabase Gem! I learn a lot about detailing from watching your builds
came for the decked out and phasmo... stayed for the cozy cute vibes 💖
It's Gem!!! I heard you were doing some decorating on Cubs stream last night. Looking forward to the video!
gem, you are my insporation for building!
I think Hermits are at their best when they're making some kind of community build/collab and or working on details/emersion of their bases.
Because no one asked, you gave the little axolotls more space than they'd need IRL, but that's honestly a good thing. You typically only want to keep two axies in the same tank if they're both boys or girls, and they'd likely eat all the coral and sea pickles. One thing Minecraft really got across is how adorable they are.
I'm sure they love their new home!
"Finished" is when you have no more ideas... Even if you've replaced every block in the whole area, if you have an idea how to switch up your library, or you hate that stables and want to rip it down and start again, it's not really finished! And equally the other direction, if your base is a "village transformation" and half of it is the vanilla generation, but you like it, then success!
The Base is Beautiful Gem! I can't wait to see it in the world download! Have fun in Vegas.
That potion room is gorgeous!
If Lego or someone partnered with Gem to make the megabase / cherry blossom tree etc. I reckon it would do so well. Such a beautiful build!
I personally "never" finish a world. I dont like to make one big building and call it a day so i make villages, houses, and when I'm exploring and find a new awesome place i make something there and so on! It's mostly like you said, there's always something you can add or improve.
I'd say, it's finished when i want to make a new world because I'm no longer motivated to play in the old one xD
whenever gem posts, it makes my day 1000% better!
In my opinion, a build in Minecraft is never really finished. Your opinions and preferences change all the time and you are constantly learning new tips and tricks, so you change the older builds along with you. It's fun!
Alchemy room, instead of 4 cauldrons in middle you can use cornered stairs 4x facing inwards. and/or you can raise it etc. It gives options
Please make a video giving a complete tour of your base and how it looks from the outside as well? 😊
Gem. i think that, like me, you forget Chiseled Bookshelves are a thing. I feel a few spread around you base would be a wonderful touch, especially in the Study, --to the right of the desk area. And maybe some enchanted books in invisible item frames on the desk?
love this video so much !! thanks Gem for sharing us your joy
Just gem casually placing one of many Etho heads in her study room. Nice
for my builds, i always decide ahead of time how much space i want the build to occupy, then i'm done when that space is transformed into exactly what i want it to be. i try to avoid sprawl, as an aesthetic choice
The pink couches could be done with the new pink wood!
I get that feeling of having building style that just comes naturally, mine doesn’t really have a name, but it’s similar to Keralis’s scrap and repurposed thing this season
Super small nitpick but i think it would be nice to drop the beginning of the staircase corner in the potions room down a block so that when you enter the room you can see more of the whimsical nature of it
I think a world is basically “never” finished in my mind.. I love to make an area or village or cabin, and have a path across a forest that goes off to a new area, or like a “train” (mine cart) that goes off across mountains and wooden train bridges like the Canadian Rockies.. I also really love a little hidden trap door in a graveyard that goes to a huge underground hidden mine like the mines of Moria of TLOTR… I like having a project in an area I can work on, but have an area that’s mostly done I can hang out and goof off or farm in… I find farming by hand in huge fields really relaxin haha
What if you hide the raid farm with a wizard tower or something so that it fits the theme if you ever do want to expand further into the water maybe even with some kind of underwater thing
